COACHING

M: Inside Soccer is in a league of
its own when it comes to online
training. Tell me a little bit about
Inside Soccer and what services you
provide. RP: Inside Soccer is truly
second to none because what we have done
is found the best there is in the world and we
have gotten those people to provide us with
the lessons. These aren’t individuals who are
just working on their own. They are typically
individuals associated with some of the best
professional clubs. Our information is tried and
tested in South America, in Europe, and in the
US. Our instructors have actually taken their
philosophies, applied them in academies around
the world and what we’re seeing on Inside
Soccer is basically the lessons that are executed
every single day with some of the best players in
the world.
The intent of Inside Soccer is to provide
coaches at all levels, entry as well as experienced,
with diversity of content that they can then
apply. At the same time, what Inside Soccer is
developing and putting in place is really an entire
set of functional tools that will enable a coach,
as well as a club to manage the entire process
they need. Inside Soccer provides a means of
communication, management, and connectivity
with coaches and their players as well as other
members of the club on an ongoing basis.
Inside Soccer ultimately will be the only
resource that people will need with regards
to their training, coaching, and players’
developmental needs.
SM: When was Inside Soccer first developed?
RP: About 4 years ago and we basically took it
online 2 years ago.
SM: I understand that Jeff Bookman was
involved in the beginning stages of Inside
Soccer. How big a part did he play in the
creation of Inside Soccer and the concept of
coaching online? RP: Jeff was instrumental from
the start. He, as well as a few other coaches who
were working at some of the best academies in
the UK, thought that it was really unfortunate
that so few kids were being exposed to the true
potential of learning at these academies purely
because of the fact that they couldn’t get to these
academies. Many kids live outside the natural
radius for them to be able to travel to these
academies. So, their idea from the get-go, which
was about 4 years ago, was to create an online
option that would take these learnings and allow
kids, no matter where they were in the world, to
experience some of the best lessons from all over
the world.
